The Spark.

 

Maxim Brookly Firewood dates all the way back to the 1930s when our grandfather, Maxim Howard , began farming. His family had moved from the city when Grandpa was 14 to begin beef and dairy farming.

Inspired by a neighbour’s beautiful golf course, he ventured into sod farming and became one of the first sod farmers in Ontario. Eventually, he began selling firewood in the 1950s.

Growth

Grandpa believed in cultivating the ground and growing what we needed.

Selling firewood was hard, manual work back without the machinery we use today.

His hard work paid off and Grandpa ran the company successfully for 30 years.
